In Jungian Psychology, the Anima is the unconscious feminine component of men and women, and an anthropomorphic archetype of the conscious mind. According to Wikipedia, she is a part of "the abstract symbol sets that formulate the archetype of the Self. The anima and animus are described by Jung as elements of his theory of the collective unconscious, a domain of the unconscious that transcends the personal psyche."
In short, both men and women have an anima and an animus part to their personality. the anima represents the female qualities (both in men and women). As the discussion what exactly is female or male is a blurry field, in my definition, the anima represents a universal feminine, that might be filled in with whatever qualities you like. in short: everything in a female shape. (since I was born into a female body, I dont have much choice regarding the physical shape here :)
