this site will follow the process of me becoming Anima, the singer of my band vitruvian vision (in short: "V") as well as my personal development as a human being (the good, the bad, and the ugly). The band's singer is going to perform in an allover catsuit made out of organic cotton (alternating with a catsuit/mask-combination for easier breathing)- totally anonymous as opposed to common stage exhibitionism. One idea behind it was that it should no longer be necessary to have a certain look or a certain shape to fit into the rock business..the mask renders the face unnecessary.
My concept as such embraces the universal feminine (based upon the psychoanalytical idea of the archetypal "Anima"), that is shapeless, colourless and void of definition.
Every album will explore a new, focussed facet of feminity: the warrior, the devil, the lover, the angel, the spirit, the...(fill in the gap).
It took me 14 years to develop my vision of a universal, endlessly reproduceable and customiseable performance- that at once has a unique USP, and cannot be copied easily. On the other hand, it makes the performer be obsolete, while whoever might perform it, might at the same time fill the performance with (his or) her own unique voice, style and vision. So, in a way..it makes the artistic expression be freer, and more authentic- despite the mask.
This concept is, thus, unique in every respect (at least that is how far my mind stretches for now:).
With time, I will try to shape this into a wholistic (in my terminology: VITRUVIAN) vision of mankind..including a possible Animus in the performance.
