..is that half of them won't understand you, and half of them will try to use/abuse you (while you yourself are thinking you're among friends).
It's their Problem, not yours. But that doesn't make it any better for you.
Anyhow, I kept my innocence alive for as Long as I could, because it is the most valuable Thing on earth, in my mind. The most bizarre mixtures exist in People.. innocence and rottenness exist in different quantities. Almost noone is entirely pure OR rotten, but I've met some that were barely recogniseable as humans, and I've met some that were (almost?) entirely pure.
And then there is Marilyn Monroe. Arthur Miller was "disappointed" because she was more child than woman (he probably wanted one of those sick "feminine" aka manipulative creatures that aren't real women at all, but are being considered sexy by men who want to be dominated and hate the woman for it at the same time.). He considered stupid what was actually naivete and child-like innocence.
Jerry Lee Lewis understood her essence. He was still a man, but at least that's something. I am writing this because I've read an article recently, and I've seen and read a lot of Things on her. She tries to be feminine, but she is feminine like a puppy's first steps at being feminine would be. She was apparently quite apt at manipulating, too- I blame that at the times. but, in essence, she was an innocent. That was her Appeal, and murder or not, that is what killed her in the end.
Tat tvam asi.. People haven't understood that yet. It happens- again and again- until all the Beauty and innocence will be gone from this earth.. at which Point, hopefully, the planet will implode.
