UPDATES

Whoever looks at our half-finished Homepage, must think: Not much is moving there.

YOU. HAVE. NO. IDEA. It's pretty crazy here backstage.

I wanted to keep people updated on what is happening, so here are (some) details.

- Organisation: Vitruvian Vision MTU (=NGO) was officially founded mid May. For now, I am sole board member, since Arsenijs was still stuck in Riga, and Saba is as yet on a short term visa, so the conditions were not ideal. The plan is to have both on board, so the board has the main skills needed for the core activities: electronics, art, marketing.

- Homepage: We have finally found a suitable website template, but then it turned out to be in the wrong coding language, so we're still looking. Since, on a budget, we can't hire a full-time web designer (and the web design intern in autumn will be pretty busy working on the interactive part of our homepage with Arsenijs).

- People: I have, since December 2020, interviewed around 60 interns, of which around 10 will be part of the project- permanently, or within a 3-6 month internship capacity. Of this 60, Saba has probably co-interviewed around 15. We currently have two 3 month interns plus core team, and 3 to 4 starting in September/October for 6 months- as well as a driver/event intern from December. Plus- a ton of volunteers.

- Transportation: we decided to opt for hybrid caravans or minivans, if we can get them- with a couple of alternatives in store. Otherwise we will have to travel conventionally. A car of some sorts would be preferable though.

- Marketing materials: after compiling contact lists for sponsors and approx. 300 collaborators from youth, lgbtiq, hacker/maker and women's organisations, we are now busy talking to people, following people and networking. We have crafted different sponsor proposals, which was/is by far the hardest part. We are also building out our social with a strategy devised over the course of a few months.

- PR: Me and my girls gave a lot of interviews to Original TV (local YouTube channel), both in a team and separately. I will be featured on The Ask Mike Show end of August (Top 20 Podcast for Self Help; Topic: Resilience), as well as one not as yet named Top Podcast for Diversity a little later. We have a list of 300+ targeted podcasts, tv channels and radio stations ready to roll. This is Saba talking about "god as an artist":

- After a major paint issue (thankfully, the dress wasn't damaged much) we are now printing it, and adding details in August. Electronics follow in September, website link in October.

- Systems: Switched laptop and phone to Mac from Windows- a bit tricky at first but now I am a well-adjusted Apple user. ;)

- Probably a bucketload more events that happened, BUT that's it for now.
