Last Night's sleep..

..was the first perfectly deep one I have had in two years- with the exception of my nights with Ernest. Satisfactory.

I met a very nice, incredibly talented lady here (her drawing reminded me of a friends) who has a decent working background, and is an English-German bilingual. I gave her Oh Joan for a quick spellcheck, a bit embarassing since this isn't really a representative text as far as my songwriting is concerned. I have no idea what it is, really..it is a text...which will have a type of litany to go..featured in a very intense, unusual video. ;)

It was an experiement, all in all. I am simply getting tired of rules, especially those concerning my writing. I am still in experimental mode as far as writing lyrics is concerned, and I do not want to adhere to any rules as far as this specific song is concerned. I have "classical" songs. And knowing that Oh Joan has an awkward structure and rhyme, a bit..wooden, as we would say, despite my inner perfectionist..I think it is perfectly right. For now. :)

9 of 12 outfits..

..for the video ready as such.

Big White Skirt, Scientist and Joan of Arc still in the making, respectively parts of it. :)

Photos go on the storyboards, so its rather a style and storyboard combined- and those then go to the Film Team in Vienna End of April.

Marlene Dietrich Szene.

Brechtian Style Whore

Marie Curie

Sylvia Plath

Amazon/Valkyrie

Doll

Chaplin (without a hat and walking stick as yet)

St. Mary

Frida Kahlo..

Hm..Simone de Beauvoir meets ..that will be a surprise. ;)

The stencil and makeup models will go onto the story/styleboards as well. I dont have that much energy or time, but the students need to know what to do when and how it is supposed to look. Marlene and Simone could need pants that are tighter and not so..used, since I have lost quite a lot of weight recently- but let's see how much budget we'll have. I sent my drafts and ideas for the song to Kyle- to fiddle and experiment with. :)

Next Week..

Robbie Fields and his son are going to pay me a visit. :)

And I will meet with a British singer-songwriter for a discussion of my first song and lyrics. Robbie once told me that I should resist to put all the content of one whole album in a song. :) I know that, and he was right- but for that specific song (and the video) that is inevitable.
