The Second Sex

..as researching on the last character left to define, visually (or, rather, fashion-)speaking, Simone de Beauvoir, I realize how much I have already forgotten that I once knew. :)

I do not cherish read (as opposed to lived/experienced) knowledge as much anymore- and of course there are time and budget restrictions- but I'd like it to be somehow authentic, after all.

I am going shopping for the (very short) appearance of Simone today, which means: headband, ring, possibly earrings- and looking for where to buy or copy or loan an english version of "the second sex".

While researching, I listen to the French version of a docu on Simone de Beauvoir: "one isn't born female.." on youtube. Interesting stuff. I guess I should really read ALL of the book at some point..I remeber reading through it quickly when I studied philosophy earlier on in my life..and went to quite a lot of feminist seminars, which were en vogue at that point.

I dont quite know as to whether I sould consider myself a feminist or not. I was born into a female shape..but never felt female, really. Its a nice body, mind me..and of course I am very familiar with the very many restrictions that come with it- mainly social. :D..they are not exclusively limited to women, though. I am a humanist, more than a feminist.

The intense pain I have been through was only partly related to me being a female..though she remains to be a truly great writer and icon. And for the video, I decided to spiritually network withsome of the greatest women of the past. It was rather an instinct to include her..though I have to say, as with her, she will be the only one to be seen from the back, rather than the front..simply because I trust myself to incorporate pretty much any facet of feminity- but maybe I dont know enough about her yet, or..just another intuitive move.
